The Flagship Method
The Commit Path
Every workflow has moments where analysis becomes action. A purchase order releases. A refund goes out. A claim gets denied. Someone, or something, just committed the company.
AEBOK defines a commit point as the precise moment in a workflow where a system's analysis becomes an action the business must answer for. Companies have always governed these moments when humans held them. A controller gets an approval threshold in writing before her first payment. The same moments, handed to software, usually get a configuration instead of a decision.
The Commit Path is the flagship AEBOK method for closing that gap. It walks a workflow end to end and locates every commit point. It assesses each one on the factors that actually matter: risk, reversibility, policy clarity, data quality, and accountability. It assigns each decision an autonomy mode that the evidence supports, from human-decides to system-decides-within-boundary. And it writes the result down as a boundary with a named owner, one page per system, where the business can read it, challenge it, and change it.
The method exists because autonomy is earned per decision, not granted per company. A system can be trusted with one commit point and nowhere near another, and the organizations that thrive with AI will be the ones that can tell the difference on paper.
The preview ebook walks the full method with a worked example, a purchase approval followed step by step from analysis to commit.
