What is AEBOK?

Companies are handing real decisions to AI systems. An invoice gets approved, a refund goes out, an order releases, and increasingly, no human touched the moment where it happened.

AEBOK is the Autonomous Enterprise Body of Knowledge, a management standard for exactly that moment. It does not teach you to build AI. It teaches your organization to govern what AI may decide, where it must stop, and who answers for the outcome.

The standard rests on one observation from twenty years of enterprise systems. We have always written boundaries down for people. A new controller gets an approval threshold on day one, in writing, before she touches a single payment. Software that makes the same decisions almost never gets the same paperwork. AEBOK exists to close that gap, one decision at a time.

Systems execute. Humans answer.

What the standard covers

AEBOK is organized as eight methods, walking an enterprise from first assessment to running execution: where the opportunity is, whether the organization is ready, which decisions come first, how humans and AI share a workflow, where authority gets written down, how autonomous capability is designed, what happens to the workforce, and how the whole transformation is executed and kept honest.

At the center sits the Commit Path, the flagship method. It locates every commit point in a workflow, the precise moment where a system's analysis becomes an action the business must answer for, and puts a written boundary and a named owner on each one.
